3.3V surge provides protection for electronic devices

The supplier of analogue and mixed-signal semiconductors, Semtech Corporation, has announced the μClamp 3381P, a single-line, 3.3V surge rated Transient Voltage Suppression (TVS) device for safeguarding industrial and consumer interfaces against transient voltage threats. The μClamp3381P achieves an unmatched surge/silicon area ratio offering 25A (8x20µs) surge immunity in an ultra-small 1.0x0.6mm package.

Geolocation solution for low power wide area networks

Semtech supports Microchip's all-in-one LoRa evaluation kit

Semtech has announced that Microchip Technology has released an all-in-one LoRa technology evaluation kit that includes the required components to create an LPWAN for either Europe or North America. The evaluation kit gives IoT developers a simplified way to develop, evaluate and demonstrate a LoRa-based commercial LPWAN for either the European 868MHz band or the North American 915MHz band.

Semtech has revealed that Zenner will integrate LoRa RF technology into their water, heat, gas, smoke and electricity measuring devices being deployed in LPWANs (Low Power, Wide Area Networks) globally. LoRanWAN IoT Network rolled-out in Germany

At embedded world, 23rd-25th February, Semtech Corporation will demonstrate a LoRaWAN Internet of Things (IoT) network deployed by Digimondo, a subsidiary of E.ON. Digimondo launched low power wide area networks (LPWAN) over Nuremburg, Hamburg and Berlin and will demonstrate the Nuremburg network performance during the tradeshow.
