Cypress has today revealed that Lite-On has selected Cypress’s 2.4-GHz WirelessUSB-NL radio-on-a-chip for its next-generation wireless keyboard and mouse set. WirelessUSB-NL’s low power consumption enables two AA batteries to power the mouse and keyboard for up to three years. The long range of WirelessUSB-NL also enables the wireless mouse and keyboard set to operate at a distance of up to 30 meters.

Cypress PSoC 3 Chosen for First RF Test Equipment for iOS Devices by Oscium

Cypress Semiconductor Corp. has announced that Oscium has selected the PSoC(r) 3 programmable system-on-chip for its new WiPry(tm) family of products for iPod touch, iPhone and iPad. The WiPry family is the first RF test equipment for iOS devices. It turns an iOS device into a spectrum analyzer, dynamic power meter or both. The PSoC 3 device in the WiPry seamlessly manages a Cypress WirelessUSB LP transceiver, and handles Apple's proprietary MFi protocol to communicate with iOS devices.

The new devices are offered in 4 x 4 mm QFN packages, in bare die, and in wafer form, enabling low-cost chip-on-board manufacturing.

Cypress Envirosystems Invited to Demonstrate Wireless Pneumatic Thermostat at Sempra Energy-San Diego Gas and Electric Energy Showcase

With a 1-mm accurate tip, Cypress’s TrueTouch touchscreen solution is poised to transform the stylus market for the next generation of capacitive touchscreen phones, allowing users additional levels of accuracy and control for text entry, keyboard, handwriting recognition and other productive functions for mobile applications. For example, stylus accuracy enables users to enter complex Asian characters and to point to ever-smaller icons used in today’s mobile phone user interfaces.
