Clock generator's integrated crystal saves space & cost
Integrated Device Technology has announced updated VersaClock 5 programmable clock generators, featuring built-in crystals for a simpler, more cost-effective approach to electronic systems timing. The 5P49V5933 and 5P49V5935 deliver the features of IDT’s VersaClock 5 clock generators while reducing PCB space and cost through the integration of a crystal.
SMD crystal oscillator operates from 80 to 320MHz
Featuring a third overtone crystal design, the OW SMD PECL/LVDS crystal oscillator has been introduced by TFC. The device, which features six pads, operates from 3.3 and 2.5VDC. Suitable for frequencies ranging from 80 to 320MHz, the oscillator is offered with the option for the tristate function to be enabled or disabled.
RF synthesiser/PLL combines high performance with low power
Featuring low power consumption and excellent phase noise performance, a wideband RF synthesiser/PLL has been introduced by Integrated Device Technology. The 8V97051 also generates fewer and lower power spurs than similar competing devices, which, combined with the power and phase noise, offers a unique competitive advantage for achieving optimal RF transmission and reception.
Inductive absorbers address VFD circulating current issues
A problem concerning all motors with VFDs , also known as inverter output, is bearing damage and circulating current caused by high-frequency current, resulting in pitting, frosting, fluting, lubrication breakdown and bearing destruction. Filtering out the damaging current before it reaches the motor, Magnetec's CoolBLUE inductive absorbers reduce transient voltages, straight capacitive currents and common-mode currents.
PTP client capacity doubled for LTE synchronisation clock
Microsemi has doubled the Precision Time Protocol (PTP) client capacity of its TimeProvider 2700 PTP GrandMaster (GM) clock, providing synchronisation to LTE Networks. The TimeProvider 2700 now provides simultaneous hardware time stamping support of up to 128 PTP clients, resulting in a significant cost benefit using a single GM clock.
Silicon SPDT switch offers crucial advantages over GaAs
Analog Devices has introduced an absorptive SPDT switch specified for the 9kHz to 13GHz frequency band, with high isolation of 48dB and low insertion-loss of 0.6dB at 8GHz operation. The HMC1118LP3DE is the first offering within ADI’s RF and microwave control product portfolio to exhibit the inherent advantages of silicon process technology, which offers critical advantages over legacy GaAs RF switches.
BNC low & high pass filters feature 50Ω connectors
Crystek has introduced a line of BNC Low Pass Filters(LPF) to its CLPFL series of LPF, as well as a BNC High Pass Filter (HPF) to its CHPFL line of HPF. Encased in a rugged BNC housing with 50Ω connectors, these filters are designed for test equipment and general lab use.
Wideband transistor extends GaN portfolio
The NPT2022, launched by MACOM at IMS in Phoenix, is a wideband transistor optimised for DC-2GHz operation and built using a proprietary Gallium Nitride (GaN) on Silicon (Si) process. The device supports CW, pulsed and linear operation, boasting output levels up to 100W or 50dBm. This device provides customers 20 dB of gain and 60% drain efficiency at 900MHz when operated at 50V.
Transmitter enables world’s first 60GHz smartphone
SiBEAM has announced a key UltraGig design win with Letv’s Le Max smartphone. Featuring SiBEAM’s UltraGig SiI6400 transmitter, Le Max is a smartphone offering 60GHz millimeter-wave wireless video technology in volume production. The device was announced in mid-April 2015 and establishes a new benchmark for low power millimeter-wave design in mobile device form factors. Le Max will be available for purchase from June 2015.
Industry's first DFE SoC for cellular base station radios
The industry’s first fully software-programmable DFE (Digital Front End) SoC for cellular base station radios has been introduced by Freescale Semiconductor. The AFD4400 virtually eliminates hardware logic design, allowing integrators to concentrate on software development and product integration.
