Long-range wireless charging project commences
Researchers at the University of Leeds are taking part in a project to develop ways to wirelessly “beam” power into robots and other digital systems. The £1m SWIFT project is the first collaborative UK effort to develop systems that can simultaneously transfer information and power across wireless networks.
Create a simple PCIe clock with flexible outputs
Expanding its VersaClock 5 family, Integrated Device Technology has announced programmable clock generators that simplify the creation of PCIe clocks while providing flexible outputs. The 5P49V5907 and 5P49V5908 have three outputs that can generate any frequency up to 350MHz in various output types.
Low g-sensitivity TCXO offers superior phase noise
Appointed to represent Greenray Industries across Europe, Euroquartz has introduced the T1241 series TCXO for use in communications, instrumentation and military applications. The ultra low g-sensitivity device is designed for use in communications, instrumentation and military applications and is available in frequencies from 50 to 100MHz.
UHF RFID integration system is first certified for Europe
HARTING’s Ha-VIS Middleware has become the first system of its type to successfully fulfil the official certification process of the GS1 EPCglobal standard. This makes Ha-VIS the only European product on the market which allows UHF RFID identification to be implemented into projects in a transparent, future-proof and reliably tested way.
μPower MEMS oscillators set power, size & weight benchmarks
Endrich has announced a family of μPower MEMS oscillators as part of its its SiTime portfolio for Wearable-, IoT and mobile markets. The SiT8021 is the first product family to put an end to the restrictions of quartz technology, setting benchmarks in terms of power, size and weight.
Multi-satellite module aids global positioning implementation
More online services than ever are based on location awareness being integrated into M2M systems and other IoT devices. The tiny CAM-M8 module from u-blox available at Alpha Micro Components offers a quick and easy way to add reliable global positioning in these applications. It offers the option of concurrent operation with any two of the three main satellite-positioning systems currently in operation - GPS, GLONASS and BeiDou - to provide accur...
Digital step attenuator trio support applications from 9kHz to 6GHz
Three digital step attenuators from Peregrine Semiconductor are available at Richardson RFPD. The PE43711, PE43712 and PE43713 are 50Ω, HaRP technology-enhanced, 7-bit RF DSAs that support applications from 9 kHz to 6 GHz. They feature glitch-less attenuation state transitions and support 1.8V control voltage and a temperature range to +105°C.
Real time clock module outperforms clock crystals
A real time clock module with a built-in power switch function is available at Rutronik. Epson’s RX8130CE is suitable for industrial, networking and consumer electronics applications. Applications using real time clocks are much more reliable and can be more accurate compared to applications using merely clock crystals with 32,768kHz.
VCO covers a frequency range of 2400 to 2600MHz
Covering the frequency range of 2400 to 2600MHz within a tuning voltage range of 1 to 12VDC, the CRO2500C-LF VCO has been released by Z-Communications. The device features a spectrally clean signal of -106dBc/Hz at 10 kHz offset and a typical tuning sensitivity of 23MHz/V.
VCO features a spectrally clean signal of -96dBc/Hz at 10kHz offset
Operating over the frequency range of 1650 to 2410MHz within 2 to 14V of tuning, the V614ME28-LF VCO has been released by Z-Communications. The device features a spectrally clean signal of -96dBc/Hz at 10kHz offset, while operating from a 12VDC supply and drawing 20mA of current.
