The analogue microwave signal generator R&S SMA100B from Rohde & Schwarz now provides microwave signals up to 67GHz. In overrange operation, it can provide signals up to 72GHz. A non-standalone 5G NR FR1 signalling test has been performed by Rohde & Schwarz and OPPO. The OPPO 5G smartphone was powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon X50 5G modem and RF frontend solutions. Duo demonstrate 5G NR standalone verification
Test and measurement specialist Rohde & Schwarz and Prisma Telecom Testing have successfully completed the verification of a 5G NR standalone registration including data transfer. While initial 5G New Radio deployments will focus on a non-standalone (NSA) mode, which always requires an LTE connection as anchor, the next step will be deployments in a standalone mode (SA).
