Renesas Electronics has announced the Renesas RX65N Cloud Kit featuring onboard WiFi, environmental, light and inertial sensors, and support for Amazon FreeRTOS connected to Amazon Web Services (AWS). The kit gives embedded designers a fast start and secure connection to AWS. Using Renesas’ e2 studio Integrated Development Environment (IDE), IoT applications are easily created by configuring Amazon FreeRTOS, all the necessary drivers, and the network stack and component libraries.

Renesas Electronics has announced that it has joined the LoRa Alliance, an open non-profit association that supports the standardisation and drives the widespread adoption of LoRaWAN. Cadence Perspec system Verifier accelerates IoT design
Cadence Design Systems has announced that Renesas has used the Cadence Perspec System Verifier to verify its new micro-controller unit (MCU) design for internet of things (IoT) applications. The Perspec System Verifier enabled Renesas to improve the system-level verification process, which reduced the number of engineering hours spent on test scenario generation by up to 90% when compared with its previous approach.

Platform now has Amazon Web Service IoT connectivity

Renesas Electronics Europe has announced the availability of the Amazon Web Service (AWS) IoT Device SDK for Renesas Synergy Platform, which will be made available on the Synergy Partner Showcase of the Synergy Gallery site. The SDK enables system developers to quickly access the power and capabilities of AWS, allowing them to easily add new devices to their existing IoT infrastructure, or create a new design tailored to their specific requirements.
