Thousands of errors occur in hospitals every day. Catching them, or even tracking them, is frustratingly ad-hoc. However, connectivity and intelligent distributed medical systems are set to dramatically improve the situation. This is the revolution that the Internet of Things (IoT) promises for patient safety. Real-Time Innovations (RTI), the IIoT connectivity platform company, have announced its support and involvement in the Industrial Internet Consortium's (IIC) newest testbed in partnership with Infosys, PTC and the Massachusetts General Hospital MD PnP Lab. The Connected Care Testbed is designed to develop an open IoT data management and analytics platform for clinical and remote medical devices.

  Smart machines – such as autonomous vehicles – are driving the current phase in the evolution of the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT).

A webinar will be hosted by Real-Time Innovations (RTI) next month that will focus on the collaboration of the connectivity standards OPC UA and DDS for industrial systems of the IIoT.
