FPGAs now interoperate with wideband RF transceiver
Microsemi Corporation has announced its cost-optimised, low power, mid-range PolarFire field programmable gate array (FPGA) is now interoperable with Analog Devices’ AD9371 wideband integrated radio frequency (RF) transceiver via a JESD204B interface. The AD9371 offers dual channel transmitters and receivers, integrated synthesisers and digital signal processing functions, which allows customers to utilise Microsemi’s PolarFire FPGAs to interface and interoperate with JESD204B, while utilising lower power implementation than competing devices.

A new family of wideband plastic packaged and chip monolithic microwave integrated circuit (MMIC) devices has been announced by Microsemi. The products add to a growing portfolio of high performance wideband MMICs and include four plastic packaged low noise amplifiers (LNAs), MMA040PP5, MMA041PP5, MMA043PP4 and MMA044PP3; a wideband power amplifier (PA) chip, MMA053AA; and two plastic packaged switches, MMS006PP3 and MMS008PP3.

A range of compact single-port SimpliPHY Gigabit Ethernet (GbE) and Fast Ethernet (FE) PHYs with supporting open-source Linux drivers has been announced by Microsemi Corporation. The PHYs, including VSC8541 and VSC8531 GbE PHYs, and VSC8540 and VSC8530 FE PHYs, provide a flexible input/output interface in a package as small as 6x6mm, enabling ubiquitous Ethernet connectivity.

Microsemi Corporation has announced a high power Monolithic Microwave Surface Mount (MMSM) series-shunt SP2T PIN diode reflective switch, the MPS2R10-606. The device is optimised for High Frequency (HF),Very High Frequency (VHF) and Ultrahigh Frequency (UHF) high power Transmit/Receive (T/R) switching in applications such as Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) receive arrays and first responder, military, aviation and marine radio communications. The device leverages Microsemi’s unique 50-year history supplying premier PIN diode products for challenging RF power, small signal switching and receiver power limiting functions.
