Laird Technologies Releases New SAH24-120-12 Horizontally Polarized Sector Antenna

Laird Technologies today announced the release of its new SAH24-120-12 horizontally polarized sector antenna. The antenna operates in the 2400 to 2500 MHz band with a 13 dBi gain and 120 degree expanded beamwidth horizontal polarization (HPOL). HPOL increases the range of the antenna over flat surfaces and minimizes vertically polarized (VPOL) signals produced by electrical and wireless devices by cancelling out those VPOL signals. Optimized for low cross-polarization and low sidelobes, the SAH24-120-12 is especially useful in spectrally crowded areas.

Laird Technologies Licenses apt-X Audio Codec Technology for Use in Bluetooth Stereo Audio Modules
Laird Technologies, announced the licensing of apt-X audio codec technology for use in its Bluetooth BTM510/511 and BTM520/521 wireless stereo audio modules. apt-X technology optimizes the objective sound quality of stereo audio channeled over the 2.4GHz ISM band from Laird Technologies’ BTM510/511and BTM520/521 wireless modules. Each module incorporates the CSR BlueCore5 Bluetooth 2.1 system-on-a-chip which is used extensively in digital entertainment devices. Each module comes pre-configured with apt-X audio codec software, eliminating the need to program in extra firmware.

Laird Technologies Releases Two New Wideband Mobile Load Coil Antennas
Laird Technologies announced the release of its two new wideband mobile load coil antennas, the B1322W and the B1360W. The B1322W features a field tunable frequency range of 132-174 MHz. The field tunable B1322W allows the user to obtain a lower VSWR than 2:1 at a desired center frequency. The B1360W does not require tuning and covers 136-174 MHz span with a VSWR of 2:1 maximum. Both antennas have an omnidirectional pattern with vertical polarization, and a maximum power of 100 watts.

Laird Technologies announced the release of its enhanced WLM400/402 802.11b/g Wireless LAN modules. The enhanced WLM400/402 802.11b/g Wireless LAN modules deliver a new level of performance to WLAN streaming video and high data rate applications. While the majority of wireless modules on the market offer effective throughput in the sub-megabit range, these modules offer real throughput many times that of the sub-megabit range. Based on the Marvell® 8686 WLAN chipset, they provide embedded designers both the data throughput and simplicity of a module with embedded drivers and an embedded industrial TCP/IP stack; saving months of embedded firmware development.

Laird Technologies announced the introduction of its new J33016S00-90N 3.5GHz dual-slant 90-degree sector base station antenna for WiMax. The J33016S00-90N 3.5GHz dual-slant 90-degree sector base station antenna operates in the 3-3.8 GHz frequency band with a 16 dBi gain. The dual-slant construction of the antenna provides polarization diversity by maximal-ratio combining, which eases the impact of multipath interference that often results in poor coverage areas. The optimized beam shaper and well-controlled side lobes reduce interference, and provide coverage in high-density areas for fixed and mobile access. In addition, this WiMax antenna offers uniform energy distribution to all users within the coverage area.
