Agilent Adds Wireless Connectivity to Clamp Meters
Agilent has announced the addition of wireless connectivity to its U1210 Series clamp meter. It also added new capabilities, including voice output and remote hosting, to the Mobile Meter and Mobile Logger applications that support the company’s wireless connectivity solution for handheld digital multimeters and clamp meters.
##IM“When working around high-voltage machinery or electrical panels, customers seek a solution that allows them to have full concentration on the measurement task,” said Ee Huei Sin, vice president and general manager of Agilent’s Basic Instruments Division.
To enhance safety during the probing of high-voltage circuits, the Mobile Meter and Mobile Logging apps both include a “voice out” capability. This feature provides an audible output of DMM readings through the text-to-speech engine in the Android device, and the voice can be directed to the device’s speaker or a Bluetooth headset.
The Mobile Meter application supports data monitoring over longer distances with a remote-hosting mode. This allows the user to monitor measurements through a Web browser running on a PC or tablet within the same network. It also lets them share measurement data with coworkers in other locations.
Agilent’s wireless remote connectivity solution now supports a total of 15 handheld models in the U1200 Series of handheld DMMs and clamp meters. The applications run on most Android-based smartphones or tablets as well as Microsoft Windows-based PCs.
