Network powerhouse features Open Compute capability

Lanner’ has released the FX-3810, a 3U rackmount network appliance built with Intel Xeon processor, featuring Open Compute capability. Lanner’s carrier-class FX Series offers high-performance and Open Compute appliances designed to meet the demands of today’s telecommunication and data center deployment scenarios. The FX-3000 Series appliances offer specs made for cloud computing, storage gateway, video infrastructure and cyber intelligence.

The FX-3810 is powered by dual Intel Xeon E5-2600 v3/v4 processors and can be configured with up to 128GB of DDR4 2133/2400 MHz REG DIMM; it comes with 1x GbE RJ45 LAN port, 1x RJ45 IO interface port, 1x OPMA slot and 1x RJ45 console port.

As an Open Compute appliance, the FX-3810’s 4x PCI-E*16 FH/HL and 2x PCI-E*8 FH/HL can be leveraged for enabling network capabilities intended for various applications, most notably storage for hybrid or hot/cold data, data crypto/compression, video encoding/transcoding, and network acceleration.

What’s more, it is equipped with dual 2.5” HDD/SSD external bays and 1x onboard mSATA slot. Last but not least, the FX-310 features 8x hot-swappable cooling fans and 1100W 1+1 ATX redundant power supply units.

Another member of the FX-3000 Series is the FX-3710, a high-performance 3U rackmount cloud storage appliance powered by Intel Xeon processor E5-2600 series, featuring 10 cores of processing power and dual main boards, each supporting up to 512GB of quad-channel DDR3 1066/1333/1600MHz memory.
