Fixed frequency synthesisers operate at 10.625 and 11.8GHz

Z-Communications has announced two fixed frequency synthesisers, the SFS10625E-LF and SFS11800C-LF. The SFS10625E-LF is a single frequency PLL solution that is pre-programmed to operate at 10.625GHz and the X-band SFS11800C-LF is a single frequency synthesiser that operates at 11.8GHz.

The SFS10625E-LF utilises ceramic resonator topology to achieve integrated RMS noise performance of better than 0.4° while consuming less than 500mW of power. It is designed to operate over a temperature range from -30 to +70°C and delivers +3dBm of output power into a 50Ω load. It comes available in a package measuring 1.0x1.0x0.22".

The SFS11800C-LF features a typical phase noise of -90 and -120dBc/Hz at the 10 and 100kHz offsets, respectively. It is designed to deliver a typical output power of 3dBm with a VCO voltage supply of 5V DC while drawing 90mA (typical) and a phase locked loop voltage of 3V DC while drawing 11mA (typical). This fixed frequency synthesiser features a typical second harmonic suppression of -30dBc and spurious suppression of -70dBc. It is housed in Z-Comm's standard SFS-L1 package measuring 1.0x1.0x0.22".

The SFS11800C-LF is also suitable for automated surface mount assembly and is available in tape and reel packaging. It is an excellent choice for radar equipment and satellite communication systems that require extremely low phase noise performance while operating over the industrial temperature range from -40 to +85°C.

Z-Communications has also introduced the USSP1570-LF L-band VCO (Voltage Controlled Oscillator). It operates from 1540-1600MHz with the narrow tuning voltage range of 0.5-2.5V DC. This miniaturised VCO features phase noise of -90dBc/Hz at 10kHz offset while operating from a 2.7V DC supply and drawing a mere 6mA of current. The USSP1570-LF is suited for portable radio and mobile satellite communication applications that require low power consumption as well as low phase noise.

The USSP1570-LF provides the end user an output power of -1±3dBm into a 50Ω load while operating over the industrial temperature range from -40 to +85°C. This robust VCO suppresses the second harmonic to better than -25dBc and covers the frequency range with a tuning linearity of better than 1.1:1. The USSP1570-LF comes in Z-Comm's standard USSP package measuring only 0.2x0.2x0.07". It is available in tape and reel packaging for production requirements making it suited for automated surface mount assembly and reflow.
