The ever growing market for wearble technologies now features a bikini that prevents the wearer from getting sunburnt. The Connected Bikini, from Spinali Design, features an embedded sensor which warns the user when they have spent too much time in the sun.

The UV sensor will send an alert to the users phone when it thinks the user has been out in the sun for a long period of time. It collects all the information necessary to optimise a tan. The sensor is waterproof and also removable from the bikini.

Users have to put their skin type into the accompanying app, available for iOS and Android, which will allow the sensor send a warning to the user through the app when they could be in danger of the sun.

A fun feature for men, the valetine feature, allows them to have their place within the brand dedicated to women. The user may decide to send an alert from the app, to their spouse's smartphone so they can apply suncream instead.

The company also has developed a beach towel with the same features, which is suitable for both men and women. It is also developing a child's version, which warns the guardian when the child is more than 164ft away.
