Primarily developed to determine the RFID transponder technology at the customer facility by presenting the customer card and reading the result on PC, the TWN4 Tech Tracer Kit has been announced by Elatec RFID Systems. The starter package helps manufacturers and integrators develop solutions for multi-standard readers.

The new TWN4 readers are designed for all current 125kHz, 134.2kHz, and 13.56MHz standards, including NFC. The TWN4 Tech Tracer Kit not only offers hardware and software for developing multi-standard solutions, it also helps integrators to identify unknown transponders.

The TWN4 Tech Tracer Kit includes the TWN4 MIFARE NFC reader/writer in a desktop USB housing with handles, a selection of different transponders and a USB stick complete with software development kit and documentation. The name Tech Tracer is taken from an app that is included in the package. This product can be used to identify and read out customer transponders of unknown standards.

Klaus Nagel, Director of Sales and Business Development at Elatec RFID Systems, explains: “One application of the TWN4 module includes devices that are required to be very flexible, regardless of which RFID standard the customer uses. Another application area includes access control systems that are in the process of being converted to new standards. During these migrations, employee identification cards can be used with different RFID cards at the same time. The TWN4 Tech Tracer Kit is perfectly suited for presenting these types of migration scenarios in companies that would otherwise be forced to replace hundreds of transponder cards all by a particular date."
