A RoHS compliant VCO, designated the V844ME36-LF, has been launched by Z-Communications. Operating between 4100 to 4300MHz, the VCO has a tuning voltage range of 0.5 to 4.5Vdc and provides better than 1.1:1 tuning linearity. A particular feature of the device is the spectrally clean signal of -110dBc/Hz at 100kHz offset, in addition to a typical tuning sensitivity of 93MHz/V.

An output power of 3dBm is delivered into a 50Ω load operating off a 5Vdc supply, drawing typically 15 mA of current. Operating over the extended commercial temperature range of -40 to 85ºC, the device has a -18 dBc typical second harmonic suppression and is offered in a low profile MINI-14S-L package (0.5" x 0.5" x 0.13"). Available in tape and reel packaging for production requirements, the V844ME36-LF is suited to automated surface mount assembly and reflow.

The V844ME36-LF is well suited for microwave radio links and satellite communication applications that require low phase noise performance.
