Optimised for high-power aerospace, military, industrial, and telecom systems, the RCP series of thick film chip resistors have been announced by Vishay. Using a standard board mount, the Vishay RCP series resistors feature a power rating of 1W at +70°C. With active temperature control the thick film chip resistors can offer a power rating of up to 11W.

Designed for high-power, surface-mount RF applications, the resistors feature a resistance range of 10Ω-2kΩ, a tolerance of ±2% and ±5%, and a temperature coefficient of resistance of ±100 ppm/°C.

Operating over a temperature range from -55 to +155°C, the resistors feature a stable thick film resistive element on an aluminium nitride substrate and an epoxy encapsulation. Supplied in the compact 1206 case size, the RCP series resistors offer very high thermal conductivity in a small package size.

Tin/lead and lead-free wraparound terminations over a nickel barrier provide improved solderability. The resistors are compliant to RoHS directive 2011/65/EU and halogen-free according to the JEDEC JS709A definition.

Featuring lead times of eight weeks for larger orders, the RCP series thick film chip resistors from Vishay are available now for sampling and in production quantities.
