An LNA, which can cover a bandwidth of 1700-2700MHz with a single match, has been released by Guerrilla RF. Expanding the company’s Power-LNA family, the GRF5020 yields OP1dB values of up to +28.5dBm, OIP3 values of up to +50dBm and a sub 1dB noise figure. The device is not only suitable for use as a PA or linear driver but also as an LNA for demanding first, second or third stage applications requiring high linearity, ruggedness and low NF.

According to Research and Markets, the wireless network infrastructure market will grow at a CAGR of more than 5%, accounting for over $104bn in annual spending by the end of 2020.

“Guerrilla RF is excited to add the GRF5020 to our growing family of Power-LNA devices that enable high performance, cost-effective design solutions. Over the coming months, we will be adding several parts to this family which will push the output power capability beyond 1W and provide frequency coverage of up to 6.0GHz to support demanding 802.11ac PA applications,” said Alan Ake, Vice President, Applications and Technical Marketing, Guerrilla RF. “Currently, the Power-LNA product family facilitates the creation of rugged, high linearity, low noise figure architectures that are essential for today’s challenging LTE system requirements.”

Housed in a 3.0x3.0x0.55mm, 16-pin plastic QFN package, the GRF5020 is available now in sample quantities. The device is priced at $3.22 each and sold in 10,000-piece quantities. Production quantities will be available from Q2 2015.
