Sivers IMA has announced its launch of the next-gen converter for E-band radio links. The next-gen converter is based on the company’s proprietary SiGe chip and offers a cost-effective and high-performance solution for those who develop and market radio links or test and measurement equipment for manufacturing of radio links and devices.

According to Cisco Visual Networking Index, the demand for data will increase nearly tenfold between 2014 and 2019. Telecomms operators are under continuous pressure to provide more capacity at lower price, and with a limited availability of natural resources in terms of frequency spectrum. This drives radio link suppliers to search for new solutions. Taking advantage of the E-band frequency is one of the most cost-effective solutions. The converter is designed to support advanced modulation schemes, which enables capacities of up to 10Gb/s.

“We understand the challenges in the market and we are pleased to be able to provide a cost–effective millimeter-wave converter suitable for all suppliers of radio links as well as of test and measurement equipment”, says Robert Ekström, CEO, Sivers IMA.
