Direct conversion receiver ICs feature I/Q demodulators
CML Microcircuits has released the CMX994A and CMX994E Direct Conversion Receiver (DCRx) ICs. The CMX994A and CMX994E are RF receiver ICs featuring I/Q demodulators with low power consumption and high performance features. These devices are targeting next-gen narrowband and wideband SDR for wireless data and two-way radio applications.
High linearity gain blocks feature broadband compressed output power
Guerrilla RF has introduced a recent addition to the company’s family of high linearity gain blocks featuring a unique combination of simple-application schematic, flat gain and high compressed output power which operate from near DC up to 4GHz. The GRF2012 and GRF2013 are suitable as cost-effective pre-drivers for today’s state-of-the-art broadband GaN high power amplifiers as well as a multitude of general purpose, high-performance ...
EuMW 2015: GaN power amplifier replaces TWTs
A 1kW X-band GaN pulsed power amplifier, the DM-X1K0-01, developed by Diamond Microwave Dvices was introduced at European Microwave Week in Paris. The devices is designed as an alternative to vacuum tube amplifiers. Special emphasis has been given to the size and weight of the amplifier which make it suitable for radar applications including airborne radar where these considerations come into play.
RF amplifiers feature high output power & gain
Z-Communications is pleased to introduce a series of RF amplifier products with the release of the PAC18700T and DRC23000M. Operating in the K-band, the PAC18700T and DRC23000M provide a unique advantage by allowing quick and simple installation into systems with their integrated supply circuitry enabling them to be operated from a single power source and availability in a SMA connectorised module package.
EuMW 2015: GaN RF transistors enable smaller radar units
Three new GaN RF transistors in low-cost plastic packages designed to enable smaller size and greater reliability in civilian marine, airborne and infrastructure radar systems were unveiled by Qorvo at European Microwave Week in Paris. The TGF2977-SM, TGF2978-SM, and TGF2979-SM are unmatched GaN transistors designed to operate in the 8-12GHz frequency band.
Satellite news brought to you by a Ku-Band feed
A competitively-priced Ku-Band Feed designed for SNG (satellite news gathering) applications will be showcased by Luso Microwave at IBC 2015 (Sept 11-15) in Amsterdam. The WG17 Feeds operate with linear orthogonal polarisation over a transmit (Tx) frequency range of 13.75 – 14.50GHz and a receive (Rx) range of 10.70 – 12.75GHz. Minimum Tx/Rx isolation is specified as 40dB in the Tx band and 35dB in the Rx band without Tx reject ...
Achieve control & reliability for 2.45GHz RF systems
Engineered to replace magnetrons and other vacuum tube-era technologies, an RF power transistor has been introduced by Freescale Semiconductor. The MRF7S24250N delivers exceptional precision, control and reliability for manufacturers of products targeting industrial applications such as heating/drying, material welding and plasma lighting systems; as well as medical applications used for skin treatment, bloodless surgery and cancer treatment.
2 & 4W power amplifiers suit satellite comms
M/A-COM Technology Solutions has announced the MAAP-011246, a 2W power amplifier, and the MAAP-011139, a 4W power amplifier in a SMT package. These four-stage, fully matched power amplifiers are suited for Ka-Band SATCOM applications and provide linearity for either final power amplification stages or driver stages in higher power applications.
LVPECL oscillator provides a -163dBc/Hz noise floor at 40MHz
Crystek Corporation has launched the CVPD-952, a ultra-low phase noise LVPECL oscillator providing a -163dBc/Hz noise floor at 40MHz. Compact and powerful, the CVPD-952 provides extremely low phase noise for an LVPECL oscillator, which translates to a typical phase jitter of 75fs (12kHz to 20MHz). The CVPD-952 offers a frequency range from 131 to 200MHz.
Crystal units adapted for ultra-low power wireless solutions
With 32MHz and 32.768kHz crystals, Rutronik offers powerful crystals for ultra-low power wireless solutions. These two components from Seiko Epson are perfectly adapted for the new nRF52 series of Nordic Semiconductors. The new nRF52 series of Nordic Semiconductors embeds a powerful yet low power ARM Cortex-M4 processor with a 2.4GHz RF transceiver.
