Designed for the IoT, the ICO300 industrial gateway has been released by Axiomtek. Powered by the 22nm E3815 (1.46GHz) Intel Atom processor, the gateway features a din-rail, fanless and rugged design. The industrial gateway, which supports up to 4GB DDR3L system memory, is offered with wireless support, four RS-232/422/485 ports, two isolated Gigabit Ethernet ports and two high-speed USB 2.0 ports.

Operating from an input power of 12-24VDC with a terminal block, the gateway is provided with a RTC battery function. Suitable IoT, industrial and embedded applications include power plant automation, facility monitoring systems and intelligent transportation systems. Supporting the Intel Moon Island Gateway solution for the IoT, the industrial gateway allows users to connect widely distributed systems via a 3G/GPRS or WiFi wireless network. The ICO300 gateway is offered with a wide range of industrial interfaces which simplify installation into IoT environments.

The gateway, which has passed CE, FCC and EN60950-1 testing, has an anti-vibration design which endures up to 2g at 5-500Hz and an amplitude of 0.35mm. For legacy embedded and automation control systems, the industrial gateway provides four RS-232/422/485 ports. Providing a 48x155x110mm footprint, the ICO300 gateway is offered with Windows 7, Windows 7 Embedded, Windows 8, Windows 8 Embedded or a Linux support package pre-installed.

“Considering a booming market for IoT, Axiomtek developed an industrial gateway which features low power consumption, wireless connectivity for cloud, rich expansion, RTC battery and robust design. The slim-type ICO300 comes packaged in a robust IP40 housing and is designed to withstand temperatures ranging from -20 to +70°C for use in extremely cold or hot environments. In addition, it has ultra-lightweight advantage and compact design for any space-limited application. The user-friendly front accessible I/O cabling design is convenient for wiring and easy maintenance. The wide range 12-48VDC terminal block power input, and overvoltage and reverse protection can minimum the risk of data loss in the event of human errors. The industrial-grade stability and reliability are absolutely ideal for intelligent computing and communication solution in critical environments,” said Maxine, Product Manager of the Product & Marketing Division, Axiomtek.
