One in ten subject to data breaches as cyber threats rise
According to a new survey commissioned by software and services company Tieto, seven out of ten are worried about Internet security and more than one out of ten have been subject to data breaches. The study also reveals that eight out of ten people in Sweden and Finland and five out of ten in Norway would now consider erasing their customer data from companies' data registers. However, only one out of ten is aware of the possibility provided by the new data protection regulation GDPR, which steps into effect exactly one year from now.

Collaboration enhances public e-identification
Swedish digital security company Verisec has partnered with Tieto on e-identification for the public sector. Under the deal, Tieto will facilitate the integration of a new e-identification solution from Verisec and the different systems and services that are used by Swedish authorities, municipalities and county councils. The aim is to create a mobile, secure and user friendly e-identification which makes day-to-day life easier for both citizens and public service employees.

Cloud ecosystem strengthened to offer wider IoT solutions
Tieto has strengthened its collaboration with Microsoft to offer customers new Azure-based solutions and offerings within IoT, analytics, DevOps, storage, disaster recovery, data platform services and Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS). Tieto’s customers will be able to access all new cloud offerings through one platform, Tieto OneCloud. Tieto claims to offer its customers the broadest and deepest cloud portfolio in the Nordic countries.

Tieto expands its data centre in Finland

The progress of digitalisation requires increasing the capacity for data storage. Tieto is currently expanding Finland's largest data centre by thousands of square metres. The company wants to help its customers take advantage of the possibilities provided by the growing amount of data, as well as respond to tightening security demands. Tieto opened a data centre in Espoo in 2011. The Data Centre was first provided with a EUR 10 million expansion in 2014.
