The SKY13575-639LF is suitable for dual-band switching in WiFi access points, WLAN 802.11ac and 3G/4G LTE systems and is also suitable for access points, Customer-Premises Equipment (CPE), LTE systems, dual-band WLAN and test and measurement equipment.

WiFi front end module eliminates need for LDO regulator
Skyworks has introduced an integrated, 5GHz 802.11ac/n front-end module for mobile platforms including smartphones and tablets. The matched SKY85716-11 FEM incorporates a 5GHz single-pole, double-throw transmit/receive switch, a 5GHz low noise amplifier with bypass and a 5GHz power amplifier. Its 0.33mm package height makes it suitable for low profile SiP modules in embedded systems.

Skyworks Solutions and Advanced Analogic Technologies Announce Amended Merger Agreement

Skyworks Solutions, Inc. and Advanced Analogic Technologies, Inc. have announced that the two companies have amended their previously announced merger agreement. Under the terms of the revised merger agreement, Skyworks will acquire all of the outstanding shares of AnalogicTech for $5.80 per share in cash through a tender offer that Skyworks intends to commence within seven business days. The companies expect the transaction to be completed in January 2012.

Choosing the Right RF Switches for Smart Mobile Device Applications

Modern smart phones and tablet computers typically incorporate multiple wireless services at different frequency bands ranging from FM radio to LTE. At the same time, an increasing number of designs utilize more than one antenna to enhance sensitivity and suppress cross-talk. Both trends place the miniature RF solid-state switches in an increasingly crucial role in smart mobile device RF front end designs. This paper will give an overview of both high and low throw-count RF switches used in different circuit locations in a typical mobile device design, and discuss how each performance specification and design feature will impact on the overall performance of your system. In addition, this paper will dive deeper inside each RF switch module and reveal current and future trends in core RF switching technologies.
