Best-in-Class multiprotocol wireless gecko technology
Silicon Labs announced its collaboration with Samsung Electronics to deliver new wireless modules targeting battery-powered edge nodes for the IoT. The new SAMSUNG ARTIK 0 module family is based on Silicon Labs’ low-power, multiprotocol Wireless Gecko SoC platform featuring an ARM Cortex-M4 processor. The SAMSUNG ARTIK 020 module includes Silicon Labs’ Bluetooth low energy software stack, and the SAMSUNG ARTIK 030 module uses Silicon Labs’ ZigBee and Thread mesh networking stacks.

Smartwatch identifies verification through the user's veins
You strap to your wrist Samsung's latest smartwatch, and your identity is quickly verified by your veins. This technology could be available sooner than you might think. Samsung has filed a patent with the USPTO for a method by which a smartwatch user's veins are used to authenticate the identity of the person wearing the device. The watch would first take an initial reading of the vein, and use it to compare to future images.

Samsung has announced today that it has successfully demonstrated clear reception capabilities of LTE Broadcast services using evolved Multimedia Broadcast Multicast Service technology using Anritsu’s Rapid Test Designer and MD8430A to simulate the LTE network environment.
