Low Power Voice Solutions for Residential Gateways from Microsemi

Microsemi will unveil its fourth generation subscriber line chipset at the Broadband World Forum tradeshow today in Amsterdam. The new ZL880 series features low power, dual-channel wideband foreign exchange service voice solutions for broadband residential gateways, cable embedded multimedia terminal adapters and fibre to the premise applications. Microsemi will showcase the ZL880 series as well as the VeriVoice line test software in stand D45 at the tradeshow.

RF Transistor for High-power ATC, SSR Applications

Microsemi has today revealed its 1011GN-700ELM, the first in a family of radio frequency transistors for high-power air traffic control, secondary surveillance radio applications. SSR is used to send a message to an aircraft equipped with a radar transponder and collect information that allows air traffic controllers to identify, track and measure the location of that particular aeroplane.

Microsemi Expands RF Power MOSFET Products Offering

Microsemi Corporation today strengthened its RF power product line with the introduction of the DRF1400 power MOSFET. It is well-suited for use in RF generators for a wide range of industrial, scientific and medical applications including plasma generation for semiconductors, LCD and solar cell manufacturing, and CO2 lasers operating up to 30 megahertz.

ULC, an indirect wholly-owned subsidiary of Microsemi, has accepted the tender of and will acquire today 123,438,737 Zarlink shares, representing approximately 96 percent of Zarlink's outstanding shares, and CAD$54,417,000 principal amount of Zarlink convertible debentures, representing approximately 87 percent of Zarlink's outstanding debentures.
