RF synthesiser operates over wide range of frequencies
Further expanding the company’s RF portfolio, CML Microcircuits has announced the release of the CMX979 Dual PLL + VCO IC. The CMX979 is a low power dual RF/IF synthesiser + VCO that provide signal generation over a wide range of frequencies. It directly supports both single conversion and super-heterodyne radio architectures and minimises the number of external components needed. The CMX979 provides the designer a solution to develop smaller and lower powered RF solutions due to the highly integrated nature of the product.

  CML Microcircuits announces that it has added a wideband mode to the CMX983 AFE IC that bridges the gap between a digital radio’s RF section and the DSP/FPGA. The 50kHz wideband mode opens up new high speed data application areas in satellite and terrestrial wireless telemetry systems.

A range of voice codecs in a single chip
The release of the new CMX7261 Function Image from CML Microcircuits also incorporates the G.723.1 digital voice coding algorithm of VoIP applications. The CMX7261 provides an end to end function with dual channel encoding, decoding, transcoding with no external DSP or DSP skills required. The device is well suited to software defined radio (SDR), voice over IP (VoIP) applications, wireless private branch exchange (PBX) and digital voice interconnect systems.

CML Microcircuits has released a DMR (Digital Mobile Radio) chipset solution. The DMR chipset comprises a low power RF Direct Conversion Receiver (DCRx) IC (CMX994A) and a PMR Common Platform Processor (CMX7341) with the DMR Air Interface and coding embedded within a Function Image. The CMX994A and CMX7341 chipset along with DMR (7241/7341FI-2.x) Function Image enables a highly integrated radio to be developed quickly, cost effectively and providing a low risk development route for radio manufacturers planning to enter the DMR market space.

The new CMX972 features a low-power IF/RF Quadrature Demodulator with PLL/VCO, a wide operating frequency range and optimised power consumption. The demodulator is suitable for superheterodyne architectures with IF frequencies up to 300MHz and the device may be used in low IF systems or in those converting down to baseband.
