Storage server drivers support FC-NVMe standard
Provider of semiconductor products that enable secure and intelligent processing for enterprise, data centre, cloud, wired and wireless networking, Cavium, has announced support for the newly ratified NVMe over Fibre Channel (FC-NVMe) 1.0 standard. Cavium’s QLogic 2700 series Gen 6 and 2690 series Enhanced Gen 5 Fibre Channel host bus adapters (HBAs) support connecting NVMe storage over Fibre Channel networks concurrently with the existing storage by using the updated firmware and drivers.

Cavium Launches New Production Ready Small Cell Reference Design with Support for Dual Radio Access Technology

Cavium announced the introduction of an OCTEON Fusion based reference design for enterprise and service provider small cells that provide simultaneous LTE and WCDMA operations. Cavium will demonstrate a tri-mode – LTE, WCDMA and WiFi – small cell solution incorporating the new OCTEON Fusion CNF71xx processor at Computex Taipei 2013 from June 4 – 8.

LG U+ Selects Cavium’s OCTEON Fusion to Light up its LTE Small Cell Rollouts

Cavium today announced that LG U+ has selected Cavium’s OCTEON Fusion platform from Samji Electronics for powering their small cell deployment for LTE. Using Cavium’s OCTEON Fusion small cell “base station on a chip” hardware and software platform, carriers such as LG U+, are able to rapidly expand their existing macro cell based networks with a large number of small base stations.

Cavium PureVu-based Miracast Solutions to Be Included in Wi-Fi Alliance Demo at CES 2013

Cavium today announced that its PureVu technology will be included in the Miracast demonstration by Wi-Fi Alliance at CES 2013. The live demonstration will include the Netgear PTV3K showing interoperability with an LG Optimus G smartphone. In addition to supporting the mandatory features of the Miracast certification, Cavium’s solution enables several optional features, including support for premium content transmission using HDCP 2.x.

Cavium and Symmetricom today announced a collaboration to ensure that 3G and 4G/LTE networks maintain mission critical synchronization. Symmetricom’s SoftClock fully supports both the IEEE 1588 Precision Time Protocol standard as well as the Network Time Protocol and has now been certified for operation on Cavium’s OCTEON Fusion, the industry's most powerful base station-on-a-chip family of SoC’s, enabling joint customers to further accelerate their time to market for their small cell solutions.
