Altran and chipmaker integrate Open Source into edge computing

Altran has announced that it is delivering enhancements to its ENSCONCE edge computing platform. The platform now integrates Open Network Edge Services Software (OpenNESS), an open-source toolkit developed by Intel, along with other Intel technologies. Altran has announced that it has more than 50 active 5G-related projects underway worldwide. The engagements span all major regions - North America, Europe and Asia-Pacific - and serve a broad range of clients, including Communications Service Providers (CSPs), Network Equipment Providers (NEPs), semiconductor makers, other large corporate enterprises, industry consortiums and public-sector institutions.

Containerised LTE RAN for Cable Networks

Altran, Benetel and Phluido have co-created a disaggregated, multi-organisation, containerised LTE RAN reference solution that provides 4G RAN services over existing cable networks. Working under the guidance of CableLabs, the companies developed the solution as part of the Telecom Infra Project (TIP) vRAN Fronthaul Project Group.

5G RAN framework to speed 5G development for NEPs

In a move that accelerates the development path to 5G for network equipment providers, Altran announced that its pre-integrated 5G RAN framework will now be used by Shenzhen Fu Hua Ke (FHK), a subsidiary of Foxconn Industry Internet (FII),  which develops the 5G wireless and edge computing technologies with an emphasis on the applications in IIoT systems both inside and outside Foxconn.
