Laird has introduced a simple online tool enabling engineers to quickly narrow down Laird’s extensive Bluetooth offerings and choose the optimal Bluetooth module solution for their specific project requirements. The LairdBluetooth Selection Tool is an invaluable resource for engineers to choose from Laird's portfolio of more than 50 Classic Bluetooth and Bluetooth Low Energy options.

This year, Laird have overhauled and refreshed their Bluetooth module portfolio. With four new Bluetooth product series in 2013 alone, Laird has added 20 modules and associated development kits to its portfolio of over 50 options. It is this significant increase in module options which has led to the release of the Bluetooth Selection Tool.

Jonathan Kaye, product manager for Laird, comments: “This new Bluetooth selection tool is designed to enable Original Equipment Manufacturers to quickly and easily choose the best possible solution for their specific Bluetooth application. In 2013, Laird significantly invested in our Classic Bluetooth and BLE portfolios and this tool will help further simplify and ease our customer’s Bluetooth development experience. The tool will be expanded across 2014 as we consistently, quarter on quarter, provide more features and exciting new products to our Bluetooth module portfolio.”

The four products released so far this year include: the single-mode BL600 Bluetooth Low Energy module, the BTM46x Made For iPod module, the BT700 series of Class 1 modules, and the BT800 series of Class 1 USB HCI module and packaged dongle. This complete product portfolio gives OEMs a variety of options for reliable Bluetooth data transfer in all types of mobile applications.
