FWM7BLZ20 smart module saves on time and resources

FUJITSU Components proudly releases the small, high quality and incredibly powerful FWM7BLZ20–series Bluetooth 4.2 low energy module. After announcement of the smart module development, FUJITSU today releases the full details and sample availability of the Bluetooth 4.2 module. The FWM7BLZ20 smart module is based upon the Nordic Semiconductor “World’s most powerful” Bluetooth v4.2 SoC “the game changer” and comes with integrated antenna.

The FUJITSU FWM7BLZ20-series offers all features and advantages of a complete and certified module with strong antenna capabilities. No need to spend time and resources on certifications, and get your application on the market!

The nRF52832 full capabilities The module has been designed to deal with a complexity of processes while using very little power; it achieves about half of the power consumption (about 5.4mA: actual measured value) and about double the transmission distance at a receiving sensitivity of -94dBm (actual measured value) in comparison to the already very popular Bluetooth v4.1 modules Fujitsu has on the market.

The embedded nRF52832 QFN-package SoC has been designed around a 32-bit ARM Cortex-M4F CPU with 512kB FLASH and 64kB RAM. Fujitsu accomplished to fit this powerful solution into the small size of just 15.7 x 9.8 x 1.7 mm (same size as the MBH7BLZ02-series).

Integrated are the 32MHz Crystal oscillator and the 32.768kHz Crystal oscillator required for the lowest power and great accuracy. The integration of both Crystal oscillators leaves all the 30 GPIO’s available for the development of great solutions.

NFC-A tag support is included on chip. Out-of-Band (OOB) pairing using NFC simplifies the process of authenticated pairing between two Bluetooth devices by exchanging authentication information over an NFC link.

The new module is on air compatible with the nRF51-series modules. And as the FWM7BLZ20 module has the same pad pattern, it is with a few minor changes pin-to-pin compatible with the MBH7BLZ02-series.

FUJITSU Components has a dedicated design team on antenna development able to create that perfect match between module capabilities and proven antenna quality. FUJITSU’s proven antenna capabilities on the MBH7BLZ02 make the FWM7BLZ20 the “most wanted” even before release.

No need to spend time and resources on certifications, the FUJITSU FWM7BLZ20-109049 module will be FCC/IC/CE/Japan radio ACT certified when going into production September 2016. FWM7BLZ20 series is a perfect solution for customers who need to reduce power consumption and/or speed up their Bluetooth applications.
