Demystifying 5G - testing the true performance of ADCs

Enhanced mobile broadband (eMBB), one of the 5G use cases, targets wider bandwidths at frequencies in the mmWave range to achieve the promised Gbps experience.

This requires new, high resolution Digital-to-Analogue Converters (DACs) and Analogue-to-Digital Converters (ADCs), such as the recently launched ADC12DJ3200 from Texas Instruments. They demand highest signal purity for testing their true performance.

The R&S SMA100B RF and microwave analogue signal generator from Rohde & Schwarz combines highest output power, lowest phase noise and lowest wideband noise making it suitable for high resolution ADC/DAC testing as demonstrated in this video.
