Enabling users to turn electrical appliances on and off from wherever they are in the world using a smart phone or tablet, UCam247 have released WiFi Smart Point Plugs (WiSPP). By plugging appliances into WiSPP sockets, users can save energy, cost and time, as well as eliminate the risk of dangers such as fire hazards.

Ensuring that all homes evolve into smart environments, users can simply plug in the WiSPP, download the free SmartPoint app to their device, enter their WiFi details and begin. 3G and 4G are also utilised, allowing users to control devices without being connected to WiFi. Along with identities and remote access passwords, the WiSPP enables users to set countdown timers to schedule the turning off of fully charged appliances. More than one device can be synced to control the WiSPP, making it reliable. Up to 150 plugs can be installed, enabling a large number of appliances to operate using the WiSPP. All purchases include one WiSPP, a starter guide, a warranty card and an instruction manual.

Bindu Gor, Marketing Manager, UCam247, says, “We use technology to add convenience to our lives but often our technological purchases can cause us problems! WiSPP enables people to control their home appliances with ease. People can have complete autonomy over their items so that if you leave the home and realise you’ve left the hair straighteners on, or any other electrical appliance, you don’t have to rush back home to sort it out. You can rectify it there and then just using your phone.”

Gor added, “A common modern syndrome is getting into your car and no sooner have you done so than you start thinking, 'Did I leave the iron on? Did I turn the lights off?' These questions no longer need to be obsessive ‘what if’ ruminations. You can check from your phone and turn on and off any appliance connected to the socket. It’s especially great if you’re a busy professional or have a few forgetful family members!”
