IDT enables wireless charging for Samsung Galaxy

Samsung is utilising IDT’s P92xx magnetic induction transmitter in the Galaxy charging pad to enable wireless charging for its Galaxy smart phone. The IDT transmitter supports the Wireless Power Consortium’s Qi standard, and offers a high level of programmability while consuming ultra-low standby power, meeting Energy Star requirements.

Arman Naghavi, Vice President, Analog Power Technology, IDT, commented: “Wireless charging is quickly moving toward becoming a standard feature for smart phones as consumers begin enjoying the convenience of untethering themselves from power cords. With our track record of providing compact wireless power semiconductors for a wide variety of companies and applications, IDT welcomed the opportunity to work closely with Samsung to deliver a great experience for its smart phone customers.”

IDT's wireless power products will be showcased in Booth 1H10 at Mobile World Congress 2015, 2nd to 5th March in Barcelona.
