Designed for portable electronics such as tablets, notebook computers and handheld medical equipment, Vishay has announced a wireless charging receiving coil for 10W applications. The WPC-compliant IWAS-4832FE-50 provides rated current of 2A, enabling 10W of charge at 5V and efficiency greater than 70%.

Offering a durable construction and high permeability shielding, the powdered-iron-based device is not affected by permanent locating magnets and blocks charging flux from sensitive components and batteries. The IWAS-4832FE-50 offers a magnetic saturation of less than 50% at 4000 gauss, compared to alternative ferrite-based solutions which can saturate in the presence of a strong magnetic field.

The receiving coil offers inductance of 15µH at 200kHz with a ±5% tolerance, CR of 255mΩ at + 25°C, a minimum Q of 60 at 200kHz and a lead length of 50mm and tinned length of 10mm.

The IWAS-4832FE-50 wireless charging receiving coil is available now for sampling and in production quantities, with lead times of five to eight weeks.
