App protects your digital legacy after you pass away

The password manager and secure digital vault, Keeper Security, has announced its new Emergency Access feature which will allow up to five trusted family members or friends entrance into a customer’s secure digital vault to access important files, passwords and documents in the case of an emergency or tragic event. Emergency Access can be set up to protect Keeper customers’ digital legacies in the event they become incapacitated, disabled or pass away.

The designated family member, administrator, executor or beneficiary of the customer’s will or estate can be provided secure vault access after a specified wait period.

“It’s never easy or comfortable to prepare for the inevitable, but with all of the important transactions and activity we conduct online to manage our daily lives, it is critical that we help our customers’ loved ones and beneficiaries gain access to the information they need in order to carry out final wishes, wind up an estate or manage day-to-day online activity for them,” said Darren Guccione, CEO and Co-founder of Keeper Security.

“Keeper’s Emergency Access feature lets trusted people such as a loved one, beneficiary or trustee manage and control their vault in their absence. Quite often when someone we love passes away, we can’t find their passwords to access their social media accounts, bank accounts, email, etc.  Keeper Emergency Access solves this major problem.  Keeper software has become an essential estate planning tool.”

Keeper users can add or remove anyone from their Emergency Access at any time and adjust the waiting period for access to the vault. Adding someone requires they have a Keeper password manager account. The reason for this is so the contact can gain access to the secure encryption keys without passing the data to Keeper Security or anyone else.  It maintains the highest level of privacy and encryption.

Keeper software provides password management and secure digital file storage for consumers and businesses. It helps people collect all their important passwords, files and other sensitive information in one convenient and secure place. Keeper creates high-strength random passwords for all your sites so you never have to remember them again.
