Connections between components and systems can now be precisely tightened with Pasternack's new line of Preset Break-Over RF Torque Wrenches. The PE5019-XX series of break-over torque wrenches allow accurate mating force (measured in “in-lbs”) when assembling and disassembling a variety of RF coaxial connectors.

The unique feature of break-over torque wrenches is that they will “break” at the pivot point once the torque value force is achieved, effectively preventing the user from over tightening the coupling nut on the connector. A broad range of break-over torque wrench sizes are available, including 1.0mm, 2.4mm, 2.92mm, 3.5mm, 7mm, SC, SMA, SMC, SSMA, SSMC, Type N and TNC connector designs. Hex (bit) sizes range from 5/32 [4.0mm] to 13/16 [20.6mm] and include 5/16, 5/8, 5/32, 1/4, 9/16, 13/16, 3/4, 6mm and 20mm mini-DIN. Preset torque values range from 2 in-lbs to 14 in-lbs depending on type and style.

The new wrenches are lab-quality tools made with a durable nickel-plated steel alloy wrench head connected to a light weight, blue anodized aluminum handle. Allowing for proper storage, the wrenches are secured inside a latched and labeled wooden box. Each calibrated torque wrench meets MIL-STE-45662 standards and comes with a Certificate of Calibration.

“Our new series of preset break-over torque wrenches provide a reliable and accurate means of applying the proper mating force for a variety of RF connectors”, explained Steve Ellis, Interconnect Product Manager at Pasternack. “The increased number of bit sizes and torque settings now offered covers the majority of lab and production application requirements.”

The new PE5019-XX series of break-over torque wrenches are available now and able to ship same-day.
