Crystals reduce the size of wearable & IoT technology
AEL Crystals plays a major role in reducing the size of the core technology for wearable and IoT devices, with its three latest products: the 1610 watch crystal; the 1210 crystal; and the 1612 oscillator.
4G LTE modules cover up to six bands
The u-blox TOBY-L2 cellular module range is on sale at Alpha Micro Components. It is a cost-efficient 4G-LTE/3G/2G multi-mode solution offering up to 150/50 Mb/s download/upload rates for data and voice voice, covering up to six LTE bands, up to five WCDMA/DC-HSPA+ bands, and four GSM/EGPRS bands in variants for all continents.
Packet network sync clock combines performance & low power
Silicon Labs has introduced the industry’s highest-performance, most cost-effective packet network synchroniser clock, the Si5348 clock IC. Combining excellent jitter performance with the industry’s smallest footprint and lowest power in a highly integrated, compliant solution, the IC enables hardware designers to implement a “clock-tree-on-a-chip” solution for Synchronous Ethernet (SyncE), IEEE 1588v2.
Electromechanical switches are guaranteed for 1m life cycles
Designed for RF, microwave and millimeter wave applications, Pasternack has announced a large portfolio of in-stock general purpose multi-market coaxial packaged electromechanical switches. Consisting of 134 connectorised designs that are guaranteed for 1m life cycles, these RF relay switches are available in a variety of different connector options including SMA, N Type, TNC and 2.92mm.
2-14GHz mixer offers 24.4dBm IIP3 linearity at 9GHz
Linear announces the LTC5549, a double-balanced mixer that can operate either as an upconverter or downconverter, with a very wide RF frequency range from 2 to 14GHz. The LTC5549 offers exceptionally high linearity of 24.4 dBm IIP3 at 9GHz and enables efficient microwave transmitter and receiver designs with an integrated LO buffer that needs only a 0dBm drive level, effectively eliminating an external high power LO amplifier circuit.
Low phase noise VCXO provides -162dBc/Hz noise floor
Featuring close-in phase noise which has been reduced to -85dBc/Hz at 10Hz offset, Crystek has launched an ultra-low phase noise LVPECL VCXO providing a -162dBc/Hz noise floor. This overall ultra-low phase noise translates to a typical phase jitter of 85fs (12kHz to 20MHz). According to the manufacturer, the compact and powerful CVPD-922 provides the lowest phase noise for an LVPECL oscillator in the industry.
RF amplifiers cover frequency bands from 9KHz to 3GHz
RF amplifiers boasting an outstanding performance that covers wide octave RF frequency bands from 9KHz to 3GHz have been introduced by Fairview Microwave. The devices are suitable for a wide variety of applications including electronic warfare, military communications, SATCOM, receivers, fibre optic communication systems, transportation systems, wireless base stations, patient monitoring systems, radio astronomy and university R&D labs.
Compact radio module is optimised for use in medical implants
Microsemi has announced the availability of the smallest radio module it has ever produced, measuring just 5.5x4.5x1.5mm. The ZL70323 is optimised for implantable medical devices such as pacemakers, cardiac defibrillators and neurostimulators. The radio module supersedes the company’s ZL70321 and complements its ZL70120 radio module used for external device controllers.
G.fast transformers target speeds up to 1Gbps
Pulse Electronics‘ new family of G.fast functional isolation transformers are in stock at distributor Rutronik. The BX4500LNL and BX4500LNLT transformers have an operating bandwidth of 2 to 100MHz and target speeds up to 1Gbps. The transformers can be matched with a Microsemi line driver and used with Broadcom’s BCM652xx DSP and BCM659xx AFE chipsets for G.fast transmission.
Piezomotor-based rotation stages suit space-limited designs
Physik Instrumente (PI) miCos has expanded its range of rotation stages in the Q-Motion product line. The Q-632 has a width of only 32mm, a height of 10mm and is suitable for applications constrained by limited space. The application spectrum ranges from microscopy, micromanipulation, biotechnology and medical technology up to automation.
