Global Roaming Solution provider, UROS – Uni-fi Roaming Solutions, has announced that Goodspeed roaming will be embedded in the newly launched ZTE Blade V8 Lite. Goodspeed Roaming, offering low-cost flat-rate mobile data globally, is implemented as a joint product development project with ZTE.

Future Electronics has signed worldwide distribution agreements with Smartrac and Elatec which enable it to supply customers with a comprehensive choice of NFC, HF and UHF tag ICs and inlays, reader ICs and reader modules. Smartrac is a manufacturer of NFC, HF and UHF inlays. Inlays are tag labels which may be applied to almost any end product or package for data-rich, wireless identification. Germany-based Elatec supplies integrated, certified NFC modules operating in the low-frequency and high-frequency bands.

The new portfolio will enable retrofitting of Dead Reckoning (DR) and Untethered Dead Reckoning (UDR) technology in any vehicle.

Infineon security chips enable world’s first NFC payment ring
NFCRing has introduced the world's first EMVCo compliant payment ring based on a contactless security chip from Infineon Technologies. The tiny, water-proof smart wearable works like a contactless payment card. Users can pay by simply holding their finger with the ring closely to any EMVCo contactless-enabled payment terminal. The ring uses NFC technology to communicate data over short distances of a few centimetres.

STMicroelectronics has acquired ams' assets related to its NFC and RFID reader business. ST has acquired intellectual property, technologies, products and business highly complementary to its secure MCU solutions serving mobile devices, wearables, banking, identification, industrial, automotive and IoT markets. Approximately 50 technical experts from ams have been transferred to ST.
