Fiber optic trunk cables suited to wireless infastructure
A fiber optic trunk cable, which are increasingly being used to replace copper in wireless infastructure, is now available from RF Industries. Utilising Corning FREEDM One fiber trunk cable, the cables are offered with 6 strand single mode or multi-mode, 12, 24, or 36 strand single mode configurations, and can be used for indoor, outdoor, or direct burial applications. The cables are also flame-retardant and UV-resistant.
L-band frequency synthesiser for GPS clock systems
Operating in the L-band at 1575.42MHz with a 10MHz reference, the SFS1575D-LF single fixed frequency synthesiser has been announced by Z-Communications. It is designed to deliver a typical output power of 5dBm with a VCO voltage supply of 5V DC while drawing 20mA (typical) and a phase locked loop voltage of 3V DC while drawing 14mA (typical).
Wireless modem for cost- and size-sensitive applications
A miniature OEM 900MHz frequency-hopping spread spectrum (FHSS) wireless modem, the Pico series P900 has been announced by Microhard Systems. Providing the ultimate OEM solution for cost and size sensitive applications, the P900 features an extremely small footprint for tight integration and design flexibility.
GNSS modules accelerate adoption of wearable devices
70% smaller than current solutions and delivering a 30% reduction in Time To First Fix (TTFF), CSR and OriginGPS announce a series of high-performance GNSS modules using CSR’s SiRFstarIV and SiRFstarV product lines. Integrating antennas, the modules are suited for health and fitness trackers, sports watches, medical devices, wearable action cameras and digital still cameras.
6 stream MIMO platform up to 50% faster than MU-MIMO routers
The launch of what is being named as the industry's first six stream 802.11ac MIMO platform for home networks has been announced by Broadcom. The 5G WiFi XStream is up to 50% faster than MU-MIMO routers and gateways, Broadcom claims.
ASIG smart Bias-Ts are suited for LTE applications
Completing the company's Bias-T product portfolio, HUBER+SUHNER has introduced smart ASIG devices designed for installation near to the base receiving station or near to the antenna. Covering the full LTE bandwidth of 690-2700MHz, these Bias-Ts feed/inject or decouple both DC and ASIG control signals into or from a feeder cable.
SMP connectors specifically target wireless applications
The inventory of SMP and mini SMP connectors from Pasternack has been expanded, with the connectors specially designed for many wireless and military applications including high density interconnect modules, radar equipment, wireless base stations and medical lab equipment.
Compact 4G LTE module certified by Verizon Wireless
Verizon Wireless has certified the ultra-compact TOBY-L100 4G LTE module from u-blox, enabling customers to leverage the Verizion Wireless network to develop IoT and M2M applications. The certification allows customers to design u-blox’s TOBY-L100 LTE modules into devices operating on Verizon Wireless’ 4G LTE network.
Fixed frequency synthesisers operate at 10.625 and 11.8GHz
Z-Communications has announced two fixed frequency synthesisers, the SFS10625E-LF and SFS11800C-LF. The SFS10625E-LF is a single frequency PLL solution that is pre-programmed to operate at 10.625GHz and the X-band SFS11800C-LF is a single frequency synthesiser that operates at 11.8GHz.
