E-paper displays enable batteryless RFID-enabled tags

Pervasive Displays (PDi) announces that its low power e-paper display (EPD) modules have been used by Japan-based TOPPAN Printing Co. Ltd to create a batteryless EPD tag with integrated RFID functionality, for logistics and inventory management. Designed to replace both paper labels and RFID tags, the batteryless RFID-enabled EPD tag from TOPPAN Printing combines a Pervasive Displays EPD module and programmable RFID tag.

WiFi-enabled e-paper displays offer flexible updating

Pervasive Displays (PDi) announced it has made the process of updating displays easier with the rollout of a low power, Wi Fi-enabled EPD. The result of collaboration with Texas Instruments Incorporated (TI), the SimpleLink Wi-Fi CC3200 wireless MCU-based EPD design is compatible with any of five different EPD panel sizes, and can be easily and wirelessly controlled, locally or remotely over the internet using the MQTT protocol.

Accelerating connected IoT e-paper label applications

SES-imagotag, a company specialising in electronic shelf labels (ESLs) for retail, and Pervasive Displays (PDi), the Taiwan-based display design house specialising in ultra-low power e-paper displays, have signed an exclusive memorandum of understanding for SES imagotag to acquire 100% of PDi’s shares, subject to regulatory authorisations and shareholders’ approvals.

E-paper displays; a myriad of exciting applications to improve personal, industrial and consumer processes

E-paper display simplifies design

A family of e-paper displays with internal Timing Controllers (iTC) has been announced by Pervasive Displays. Removing dependence on external microcontrollers for timing control simplifies the design of displays because the driving waveform is embedded in the display’s chip-on-glass driver IC.
