In order to support voice, video and SMS calls with roaming User Equipment (UE) in the network, GL Communications has enhanced its End-to-End Wireless Network LAB Solutions (2G, 3G, 4G and IMS). Test suite enables simulation of location based services in UMTS networks
The LoCation Services (LCS) Test Suite to support simulation of location services in UMTS networks has been unveiled by GL Communications. The LCS architecture in UTRAN follows a client/server model with the positioning functionality distributed across UMTS nodes such as, Radio Network Controller (RNC), Stand Alone Serving Mobile Location Centre (SMLC), Mobile Serving Centre (MSC), Home Location Register (HLR), and Gateway Mobile Location Centre (GMLC).

GL enhances IMS emulator with online and offline charging system

Speaking to the press, Mr. Karthik Ramalingam, a Senior Manager for product development of the company said: “The IP Multimedia Core Network Subsystem (IMS) is a collection of different functions. IMS uses Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) to access multimedia and voice applications from wireless and wireline terminals creating a form of fixed-mobile convergence. For accounting, authentication, and charging functions, IMS uses Diameter protocol.”

The Multi-Stream IP WAN Emulator referred to as IPNetSim (1 Gbps/10 Gbps) has been announced by GL Communications. IPNetSim emulates an IP network with access to 10Gbps full duplex link or a 10/100/1000 Mbps full duplex link. For each direction, incoming traffic can be identified into separate user defined streams (up to 16 streams for 1Gbps pipe and up to 4 streams for 10Gbps pipe).
