A new testing API, a programming interface that allows developers to write their own test cases in the contactless environment (NFC Forum, EMVCo, ISO/IEC 18092, ISO/IEC 14443) has been developed by Comprion. As the API offers the opportunity to implement user-defined scenarios in a lab environment, it is of high value for everyone involved in the development of contactless devices and applications.

A solution for fully automated execution of both 3GPP TS 36.523 LTE and 3GPP TS 34.123 3G conformance tests has been developed bvy COMPRION and Rohde & Schwarz. The solution consists of the R&S CMW500 protocol tester, providing an industry leading number of GCF and PTCRB validated protocol conformance test cases, and the Comprion Test SIM Simulator.

A new testing architecture for embedded UICCs (eUICCs), also known as eSIMs has been developed by COMPRION. The new methodology focusses on quality assurance, especially on interface compliancy as well as system and platform behaviour testing according to the GSMA and GlobalPlatform. It will be premiered at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona (Feb 22-25).

The EMVCo PICC Analogue Test Solution for mobile phone approval according to EMVCo standards extends COMPRION’s range of EMVCo products. The solution consists of the conformance test system UT³ Platform, a Kawasaki robot in a safety cell and additional EMVCo test equipment, such as antennas.

EMVCo has approved the EMVCo Electrical Terminal Test Solution from COMPRION. The solution is operated on the UT³ Platform terminal test tool. Swantje Missfeldt, Product Manager for EMVCo products at COMPRION explains, “As COMPRION is the only supplier of a qualified test tool, all test labs offering Terminal Type Approval for Contact Level 1 Electrical tests need the new solution and the corresponding accreditation from EMVCo.”

The American safety consulting and certification company Underwriters Laboratories (UL) equip their lab with Comprion’s UT³ Platform conformance test solution. Mike Kuo, General Manager, North America explains, "We selected Comprion as our test platform for its advanced automation and precise programming capabilities.”

The test solution provider COMPRION says it’s UT³ Platform conformance test system is the first to provide new test cases covered by the GSMA Handset Test Book requirements. The GSMA Handset Test Book is driven by mobile network operators. They aim to make sure that handsets support a defined set of NFC-related features and are be interoperable with corresponding contactless devices.

COMPRION’s UT³ Platform has recently been approved by the NFC Forum for Digital Protocol Functional Testing and is now listed on their website in the Approved Test Tool section. After a rigorous validation procedure the solution can be used by manufacturers for NFC Forum conformance testing as well as by authorised laboratories for certification testing of NFC Forum devices.

COMPRION says it can ease the verification process of near field communications (NFC) its new NFC Robot. Spurring this development is the universal NFC ecosystem which harmonises related specifications, ensuring interoperability. An NFC Forum compliant device has to support all different NFC technologies with a large number of possible parameter sets.

Comprion is taking on a lead role in preparing the GSMA (Groupe Spéciale Mobile‘ Association) Handset Testbook. The GSMA has been discussing standards for NFC (Near Field Communications) in order to find common ground for the different stakeholders and to document this in the Testbook.

COMPRION’s new test card helps confirm the proper functioning of mobile phones in extreme temperature zones, from the Arctic to the Sahara. M2M UICCs are perfect for devices that must perform in rough environments and meet extended lifetime expectations. Such devices can be used anywhere on earth, i.e. making a call from a car in the middle of the desert, or sending data from an Arctic weather station.

After the successful qualification of SWP/HCI tests on COMPRION’s “Spectro TP” in December, COMPRION is proud to announce that three further card compliance test benches were qualified by GlobalPlatform. The new test suites validate if a Smart Card is compliant to the GlobalPlatform UICC Configuration, UICC Contactless Extension and Mapping Guidelines.

The new test system ‘Spectro TP’ – which has been qualified by GlobalPlatform – advances interoperability in the Smart Card market. The all-interface Smart Card Conformance Test Platform will support operators as well as card and chip manufacturers in successfully marketing secure Smart Card solutions and services.

All GSM, W-CDMA and LTE conformance tests according to GCF/PTCRB defined standards can now be performed using a test platform with one single network simulator, the Anritsu MD8475A. The new “COMPRION SIMfony MD8475A” is listed as TP 126 at GCF and is the first validated test platform for executing combined (U)SIM and (U)SAT tests for all 3GPP network standards.

The complexity of the OTA setup compels network operators to test comprehensively. COMPRION’s OTA test system simulates complex OTA use cases so that communication errors in this setup are detected before expensive service rollouts.

The RF Plugfest taking place May 21-25 in Malaga was initiated by the NFC Forum with the aim to test the interoperability of NFC implementations. Particularly, the test equipment providers were challenged to show their progress in the implementation of the NFC Forum test specifications.

COMPRIONs recently launched COMPRION SIMfony RS IMS test bench contains the IMS ISIM test cases for device interaction testing specified by Verizon Wireless. With this package COMPRION is completing the range of tests described in the VZW LTE Device-UICC Interaction Test Plan.
