It has been announced by Mimosa that Amtech Communications has selected its backhaul radios to deliver superfast broadband connectivity to hundreds of Multi Dwelling Unit (MDU) properties across the Mid-Atlantic region in the US. Amtech Communications provides WiFi access to over 9,000 tenants in MDUs across nine US states.

Modelithics and IPDiA have teamed to develop Modelithics models for IPDiA’s high performance ultra broadband surface mount silicon capacitor. Modelithics and IPDiA worked closely as part of the Modelithics Vendor Partner (MVP) Program to characterise the 10nF low profile (100μm) capacitor (UBSC 935 152 492 510).

A high linearity I/Q demodulator with more than 1GHz, -1dB flatness bandwidth, the LTC5586, has been introduced by Linear Technology. The device supports next-gen 5G wireless infrastructure equipment such as DPD (Digital Predistortion Correction) receivers for base stations, microwave backhaul and Software-Defined Radios (SDR), as well as other broadband receiver applications.

The right balance to speed wireless downloads
Researchers from New York University Tandon School of Engineering and Trinity College in Dublin, Ireland, have conceived a method to improve spectrum efficiency by deploying a mix of half and full duplex radios in base stations. Their paper, Throughput and Coverage for a Mixed Full and Half Duplex Small Cell Network, recently won Best Paper at the IEEE International Conference on Communications (ICC) in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. ICC is one of the world's premier telecommunications research conferences.
