Easy Bluetooth Smart app development with TI's SensorTag app for Android 4.3

TI eases and speeds Bluetooth Smart “appcessory” development with the CC2541-based SensorTag, featuring Android and iOS support. The CC2541-based SensorTag features six commonly used sensors on a single board for quick evaluation and demo. The $25 SensorTag kit has been widely embraced since it does not require hardware or software expertise and sample Bluetooth Smart applications can be run on a smartphone or tablet in minutes.

The SensorTag has already been used by Android and iOS developers and device manufacturers in order to fuel the Bluetooth Smart appcessory market. Featuring six integrated sensors, including TI’s TMP006 contactless IR temperature sensor, the SensorTag brings countless applications to life. Possible applications include health and fitness, educational tools, toys and remote controls, and mobile phone accessories; all of which can be controlled by asmartphone, tablet or laptop.

TI’s royalty-free BLE-Stack software can be used with the SensorTag to offer an over-the-air download feature to maintain compatibility with end-equipment firmware updates. the CC2541-based SensorTag kit also complements TI’s CC2564 Bluetooth dual-mode solution and WiLink combo connectivity solutions.
