The IcyTRX-65, a 2.4GHz silicon RF transceiver for BLE (Bluetooth Low Energy) circuits, has been introduced by CSEM. This is a 65nm version of the company's existing IcyTRX transceiver, offering a 5mA current consumption from a 1V battery.  BT4.1 compliant, the transceiver provides a sensitivity of –97dBm and a transmitter frequency synthesiser settling time of 5μs.

The IcyTRX-65 operates down to 0.9V, allowing the use of small coin-cell batteries. Without the requirement of external matching components, the transceiver features a die size of less than 2mm2. The transceiver, which offers a programmable data-rate up to 4MBps, also allows use with IEEE802.15.4 protocols (e.g. Zigbee) as well as with proprietary protocols.
