Semtech has announced that its TS80K wireless charging platform has been adopted in next-gen computers for business. Semtech’s tri-mode wireless charging technology sits inside the monitor stands provided with these latest computers to provide wireless charging for mobile and wearable devices in today’s modern workspaces.

As previously announced, Semtech’s TS80K is the industry’s first tri-mode wireless charging platform to support all three major wireless charging standards: Qi, PMA and A4WP Rezence, in multi-mode for both transmitter and receiver applications. In addition to supporting existing standards, the platform can also be quickly adapted to support future wireless charging standards as they evolve. The TS80K, which includes the TS80000 transmitter, the TS81000 receiver, as well as a complete set of power management ICs, also scales to offer low, medium and high power options for a wide range of application needs.

“Our ability to deliver flexible wireless charging ICs that embed in devices of all shapes and sizes and support all three industry standards offers our partners unprecedented customizability and cutting-edge technological capabilities,” said Ken Moore, Vice President and General Manager, Semtech’s Triune Product Group. “We’re excited to see our technology making its way into computers from Tier 1 manufacturers.”
