Britain’s largest collection of independently owned hotels has improved its data recovery time by 75% thanks to a successful partnership with Altinet. The IT experts were called in earlier this year to review IT storage processes and infrastructure for the hotel chain.

Best Western has over 260 separately operated venues and more than 10tb of data that existing devices were struggling to accommodate. The company sought Altinet’s expertise to implement a storage solution, with an eye to safeguarding data and accelerating recovery.

After a flexible consultation and trial period, Best Western opted to use Barracuda backup 890, which uses cloud storage for easy data replication and management. Altinet also lent its unparalleled knowledge and support excellence to Best Western as the internal team prepared onboarding and prepared a business case for the board of directors.

Barracuda Backup was the ideal option for Best Western, as the system is simple to manage and includes 24/7 expert support. The success of the project has exemplified why Altinet was named as Barracuda Networks’ UK Partner of the Year for 2016.

Henry Doyle, Co-founder of Altinet, said: “We are thrilled that we have been able to help one the country’s leading leisure brands streamline its data recovery processes. We take a collaborative approach to all of our projects and this is something that is reflected in our customer feedback from Best Western particularly.”

Best Western highlighted Altinet’s outstanding attitude and superior know-how as key influences in signing a new three year contract. The company was so impressed with the service that it is now considering further projects including upgrading firewalls and exploring the possibilities of bespoke IT packages across its entire collection of hotels.
