A new catalogue published by HUBER+SUHNER brings together in one publication full details of the company’s Distributed Antenna System (DAS) capability for in-building applications. HUBER+SUHNER’s DAS product and project offering which includes antennas, fibre and coaxial cabling and connectors will be of great interest to network operators, systems integrators and installers as well as those responsible for infrastructure management in areas such as railways, exhibition halls and shopping centres.
Wireless network operators are investing heavily in upgrading their nationwide cellular infrastructures to manage the increase in bandwidth demanded by today’s business and consumer customers. Users of data hungry smartphones expect high performance, real-time mobile communications wherever they are located - even within public and commercial buildings and similar areas such as airports, rail stations and campus-type facilities.

Building structures will often degrade cellular signals, significantly reducing the local coverage and performance. To overcome this, Distributed Antenna Systems are used to distribute the cellular signals via strategically located antennas connected using coaxial or fibre optic cables. This ensures that in-building coverage meets the network performance levels that mobile users expect and the use of DAS can also allow facility managers to add further high-speed voice and data capability as the need arises.

According to Robin George, Product Manager for HUBER+SUHNER’s Distributed Antenna Systems offering, an increasing number of customers are looking to ensure their building or facility allows users, visitors etc to “continue as normal” with their mobile devices since fast and constant access to the internet as well as reliable voice communications are now considered a normal part of everyday life.

HUBER+SUHNER’s DAS product capability extends from the antenna to the coaxial and fibre optic cable and also to the relevant connectors and terminations.

The new catalogue includes full details of the company’s SENCITY antenna family which includes “fit and forget” models that cover the frequency band 380MHz to 6GHz while offering high gain properties and a low IM distortion level.

Also covered are HUBER+SUHNER’s SUCOFEED cable products, QUICK-FIT and ECO Connectors as well as a wide selection of RF components including hybrid and directional couplers, power splitters, diplexers and triplexers and terminations.

A separate publication describes HUBER+SUHNER’s fibre connectivity solutions.
